Eligibility Requirements for 50% All India Quota (AIQ) Seats

The following eligibility criteria apply specifically to candidates seeking admission through the 50% All India Quota (AIQ) seats. It is important to note that candidates from Jammu and Kashmir are ineligible to apply for the AIQ 50% seats in accordance with NEET-PG eligibility guidelines.
Admission to MBBS seats in medical institutions within Jammu and Kashmir for candidates from this region is subject to nomination by the Government of India.
Nominees designated by the government must submit a duly signed affidavit affirming their selection for the AIQ 50% seats. This affidavit must be submitted along with the application form before the stipulated deadline to fulfill eligibility requirements.

Eligibility Requirements for Medical Graduates from Abroad

Indian residents or citizens who have obtained their primary medical degrees from foreign medical colleges must clear the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE), also known as the Screening Test, conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE).
In addition, candidates are required to be registered with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC), and must have completed their internship by March 31, 2023, or be on track to do so. On the day of the examination, foreign medical graduates must present their FMGE pass certificate issued by the NBE as proof of eligibility.

How to Apply for MD/MS Course?

As already mentioned, MD/MS admission is provided through NEET-PG. To apply for NEET PG, you must register your name. You must provide all of your personal information. Gender, category, Aadhar, place of residence, state, and other personal information are included. After that, you must enter your contact information, including your phone number, email address, and guardian’s or landline number. You will also need to include information about your domicile in the application form, if necessary. You must enter your academic information, including your school, board, passing year, and grade point average. After that upload the required documents and pay the application fee via debit/credit or net banking.

Process – Study MD/MS in India

Medical graduates aspiring to enroll in postgraduate MD/MS programs must first satisfy the NEET PG 2025 eligibility criteria. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) will release a comprehensive information booklet in the first week of November, detailing eligibility requirements, deadlines, guidelines, grading criteria, and exam structure.

NEET PG exam results are typically announced between March and April by the designated authorities. Candidates can access their results on the official website by entering their roll number, registration number, or other required credentials. Subsequently, a merit list is prepared based on the scores, and rank cards are issued accordingly.

Qualified candidates become eligible to participate in the counseling process, which is conducted in two streams: the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) and Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) oversee counseling for 50% of the All-India Quota (AIQ) seats, while state authorities manage counseling for the remaining 50%. Final admission decisions depend on NEET PG scores, seat availability, candidate preferences, and other relevant factors.
